Welcome to Stimulus.SC.gov
On February 17, 2009, the U.S. Congress approved the the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 -- an historic and unprecedented $787 billion dollar spending initiative. This Web site is designed to keep South Carolinians informed about how the money is being used. The goal is to ensure the highest level of transparency and accountability possible.
The stimulus bill is projected to have more than a $3 billion inflow to the State of South Carolina. State government agencies have received more than $1 billion in federal stimulus funds. (See chart below.)
S.C. Comptroller Richard Eckstrom recently posted stimulus-spending details on the Web, making South Carolina one of the very first states to do so. South Carolinians can now view individual stimulus expenditures with a few clicks of a mouse. For federal stimulus expenditures made by state agencies, click here.
